CELEBRITY BOOST FOR CARROLL'S CAMPAIGN

"Agony aunt" Claire Rayner visited residents of Holywell House in Folkestone yesterday to boost Peter Carroll's campaign to beat Michael Howard, it is reported o­n the Shepway Liberal Democrat website.

It said o­n the site that Claire told residents that she was a supporter of the Labour Party for over 50 years. She has now switched her support to the Lib Dems.

Claire Rayner said, 'I left Labour because they simply did not deliver o­n free care for the elderly. They have not stopped the practice of elderly people having to sell their homes to pay the fees in nursing homes.' According to the site Claire is urging all Labour supporters to back Peter Carroll to defeat Michael Howard.
