Footpath raises heated debate

FOOTPATH RAISES HEATED DEBATE

The siting of a footpath through the Village Hall car park raised a heated debate at the Hawkinge Parish Council meeting tonight (13 April).

The Parish Council recently discovered that they infact own the car park and not, as was previously thought, the Village Hall.

To improve the access to the Hawkinge Community Centre and the Post Office, the Parish Council, who were unable to agree, are asking residents where they would prefer to see the footpath.

Already there is a path next to the village hall, but that ends in the Community Centre car park and villagers have complained about its rough and bumpy surface.

The cycle track from Heron Forstal AVenue which passes the Community Centre and ends at the Village Hall car park could be extended to Canterbury Road.

If you have any suggestions please let us know.
