It is strongly suspected that thieves are trawling the area looking for easily removable items from gardens and outside the front of houses. Remember to lock away all your garden equipment and don’t risk leaving it out overnight.

We have even had recent reports of rose bushes and shrubs being dug up from a garden in the Staple area.

Try also securing you hanging baskets by use of a small padlock or wire so as to make them more difficult to remove.

Mark your pots and containers with you your postcode either on the back or underneath. I would suggest a visible marking location as well as a hidden one.

These stolen items are it is suspected are taken to boot fairs and auctions where unsuspecting punters end up buying stolen goods.
