VICTORY FOR PETER'S LAUNCH
Hawkinge parish councillor and Chairman of Shepway District Council Peter Smith will be hosting a dinner dance at the Pavilion in Folkestone to raise awareness for the SeaBritain 2005 initiative.
The theme of Britain and the Sea is inspired by the 200th anniversary of Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. The overall aim of SeaBritain is to increase maritime knowledge and involvement throughout the country, in particular among young people.
Peter is constructing a quarter size replica of Nelson's flagship HMS Victory which is nearing completion and will be launched later in the year.
