COMMUNITY WARDEN GOES BACK TO SCHOOL

Popular Village warden Ian Norman is leaving Hawkinge to go back to school.

Ian will be working as a Police Community Support Officer in Pent Valley school Folkestone, where he will be based.

The initiative for Police offices in the community was instigated by Kent's new Chief Constable Mike Fuller who recently opened the first Police Office at Newington Junior School in Ramsgate.

Ian has worked in the village for two years and has been a familiar face to local residents, but this is not the last we will see of him.

He intends to still be involved with the the village through the Hawkinge Partnership. His interest in the welfare of young people in the village will see him fighting their corner as a member of the Parnership's Youth Focus Group.

A new Warden will be appointed in a few weeks time and another Warden will be working in the village for 2 days a week and three days in the Elham Valley.
