LIGHTHOUSE UP FOR SALE

The old lighthouse at Dungeness, is up for sale.

It has six floors and 150 steps but the person buying the property will not be able to live there.

A new lighthouse came into service in 1960 because the nuclear power station, just a few hundred yards away,  blocked the sea view from the original building.

The father of the current owner, Jill Stanner bought the listed property at an auction in the 1980's which he then opened and operated as a museum and tourist attraction.

Offers are being accepted on the lighthouse but so far no value has been put on it.
