POLICE CALLED AS TARMACING ROW BOILS OVER

Police were called after heated exchanges between residents over tarmacing an unmade road in Hawkinge boiled over.

A residents association set up to resurface the pot holed Coombe Wood Lane failed to muster support of all the residents before they brought  in the asphalters on Monday (5 December) to begin the three day job.

The residents association had raised £30,000 to complete the job but after negotiations with protestors, a compromise has been reached which allows the road to be tarmaced only to the junction with Coombe Way.
