NEANDERTHALS STILL POPULATE THE SITE

Dear Ed,

Some time ago I stopped taking part in the 'Chatterbox' section, because the comments were becoming increasingly nasty and personally offensive. 

However I still look at it occasionally to see if things have improved - some hope!! 

It seems that the same neanderthals still populate the site. 

I am completely in favour of lively debate and have a strong sense of humour, but some of the comments go beyond the pale (brats being dropped off at school etc etc). 

If the contributors o­nly made comments which they would be willing to make face to face, then the whole thing would be far more interesting and worth while, instead of the mindless smart-ass comments which seem to make up the whole enterprise.

As things stand, I will still keep away, and would advise anyone else with half a brain to do the same!
