CHOCKS AWAY FOR LEISUREDROME SALE

Hawkinge Parish Councillors voted to sell the Spitfire Leisuredrome at their monthly meeting on Wednesday (9 November).

The Spitfire Leisuredrome

The Parish Council Finance Committee recommended that the council apply for outline planning permission for houses and that the sale of the premises should be made by tender.

A debate on the matter in the open meeting had to be halted as confidential matters were raised over the Finance Committee recommendations and the discussion was moved to the confidential section.

A reliable source has told the Gazette that the Council voted in favour of the recommendations.

The money realised from a sale of the premises is expected to be spent benefiting  the village with an emphasis on the local youth.
