HATS THE WAY TO DO IT

At our recent meeting we were entertained by Mrs Carol Ann Bosworth once again, with her talk on hats she has worn over the years. 

After her talk we were asked to make hats out of tissue paper and other trimmings, which turned out some very interesting results, accompanied by gales of laughter. 

The hats were then paraded for other members to see, to the surprise of us all, what a wonderful collection of milliners we turned out to be. 

We had several new members and guests join us for an interesting afternoon. The Christmas Lunch is on Thursday Dec 8th 12.30 for 1.00pm in the village hall. Mrs Barnes, President had obtained some photo’s of the birthday party and lovely cake. Daphne Hitchcock has done a collage of photo’s of the party that members can order. 

Everyone had enjoyed the trip to Buckingham Palace and Clarence House and Mrs Barnes thanked Ruth Prior for organising it. 

Members were reminded that there is a Christmas coffee morning at Beer Cart Lane in Canterbury on Friday November 25th and urged members to visit this interesting building with lovely garden, open most days, where members and friends can get a cup of tea while shopping.

The Group meeting is on Monday 31st October and Brenda Smith won the competition for a mask on a stick which will be entered at this meeting. 

The walk will take place on Tuesday 18th October leaving the village hall at 10.30am to go to Sandgate with a fish and chip lunch so cars will be required.

Our AGM will be on Tuesday Nov 1st at 2.00pm in the village hall.
