HAT-TRICK FOR GOALIE

In the local derby cup match, Swingfield were no opposition to the high scoring Hawkinge Sunday league stars.

Playing Swingfield in the first round of the E Burvill Cup, the team, which  had beaten Swingfield 9-0 a few weeks ago was at it again. But by the start of the second half a very bored Hawkinge  goalkeeper swapped position and scored a hat-trick in their impressive ten goals to nil win.

The Saturday team started with just nine men in their league match with Lydd but still managed to lead the lads from the Marsh three goals to o­ne at half-time. Starting the second period with a full squad the village team clinched a narrow victory.

The Hawkinge U15 team played Addington in a Kent County FA Cup match but found the going tough. They still have some way to go to win, however, as a team they are showing improvement, but their lack of goal scoring ability is continuing to let them down.
