PORT CRUISING SUCCESS

The new Fred Olsen’s vessel Boudicca will be sailing in the Dover Cruise terminal next year, helping to boost the number of calls to the port by 25%.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Dream to Northern Europe will be returning after a year’s absence and the introduction of Norwegian Dream will operate a programme of 12 cruises. The company is also introducing Pride of Hawaii at Dover for inaugural celebrations.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines newly-acquired Boudicca will be home-porting at Dover in 2006 with a programme of 18 cruises working in tandem with the Black Watch (10 cruises) and Braemar with seven departures.

Saga Cruises will again be operating the Saga Rose and Saga Ruby with a combined programme of 18 cruises. Celebrity Cruises will operate ten departures with the Constellation.

In total, the port is expecting 37 cruise liners in 2006 operating 140 departures.

“2006 marks the 400th anniversary of the granting of the Royal Charter for the operation of the Port of Dover. We are working closely with the cruise lines and our other port customers to make it a year to remember,� said Kate O’Hara, the port’s Head of Commercial and Marketing.
