HEALTH CENTRE PLANS WITHDRAWN MYSTERY

Mystery surrounds the plans for the Health Centre in the woods after a caller allegedly from the Folkestone Herald contacted Tony Hutt from the Hawkinge Civic Society (HCS) claiming that they had received a press release telling them the plans had been withdrawn.

Society Chairman Stuart Hall, who was with Mr Hutt at the time commented: "Common Sense has prevailed", but after the  initial euphoria they have been unable to confirm the news.

When Shepway Council's Planning department was asked today by a member of HCS if the plans had been withdrawn,  they told they could not comment.

The planning application is still in the list of current plans on the Shepway Council website
