NEW SHIPS JOIN CHANNEL ROUTE

Norfolkline's newest ship, complete with luxury restaurant and a shopping mall arrived at Dover yesterday  (22 October) to join two others already serving the route to Dunkirk.

Maersk Dunkerque

The Maersk Dunkerque was built by Samsung Shipbuilding in Korea and is the first of three new vessels built for Norfolkline. Her two sister ships are still under construction.

The 34,500 tonne vessel can carry 780 passengers, 200 cars and 120 trucks, and is scheduled to be in service next month.

The next two ships, the Maersk Delft and  Maersk Dover should be operating in December 2005 and  July 2006 respectively.
