DOVER PORT FACING DISRUPTION DAY

The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) has organised a 'Day of Action' on Friday, 14th October at Dover Port.

Beginning at 11.00am, truck drivers and transport workers are being urged to come to the Port of Dover, for a mass leafleting session followed by a rally.

Depending upon the numbers attending the demonstration, it could cause major disruption of traffic to and from the port.

The ITF is supported in the UK by The Transport and General Workers Union, the 'Day of Action' is intended to be a 'demand for ending the long hours pay culture, the demand for decent pay and pensions, decent roadside rest facilities, rigorous enforcement of health and safety and proper recording and recognition of fatalities as workplace fatalities'.
