TOP MAN - GET CARTER

Paul Carter was today nominated to be Leader of Kent County Council following election by the controlling Conservative Group.

Mr. Carter, Cabinet Member for Education Standards and Pupil Services, will now go forward for appointment as Leader of the Council at a special full meeting of the County Council on Wednesday.

Mr. Carter said: “We must build on the phenomenal success of the last eight years. We now face some major challenges for which we will find solutions. We will also continue to deliver improved services for all the people of Kent.�

Sir Sandy Bruce-Lockhart, who is stepping down as Leader, said: “Paul will be an immensely able Leader who will take Kent County Council and Kent forward. Paul is determined but will also take everyone with him. I have every confidence in him and the future.�
