Tories plant tree for Labour councillor

TORIES PLANT TREE FOR LABOUR COUNCILLOR

Cllr Carole Waters led the ceremonies to plant a tree for labour local Councillor Ted Ellis who is due to leave to live in Wales shortly.

At the ceremony in New Romney a mock plaque (the real one will come later) was presented with the inscription: “Cllr Ted Ellis.  In recognition of dedicated service as a Shepway District Councillor 1995—2004, tree presented by the Shepway Conservative Group, This tree has a TPO, Ted Preservation Orderâ€?.

During the speeches Cllr David Monk  thanked Cllr Ellis in his native Welsh language.
