FRENCH BRING CONTINENTAL MARKET TO SHEPWAY

French food and crafts will be taking their place alongside traditional English wares next week when traders from Boulogne come to town.

Up to 15 stalls selling a range of French delights from cheese to chocolates will be lining the pedestrian precinct outside Debenhams in Folkestone on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (8, 9 and 10 December) as part of a town centre renaissance project headed by the Boulogne and Shepway Co-operation Association.

Folkestone’s own market has been extended by a day and will open on Friday as well as Thursday and Saturday.

“We have had French stalls in Folkestone before, but this is the first time both the Boulogne and Folkestone markets have been linked. It should be a great place to pick up some special Christmas presents, said Shepway Council’s Licensing Manager, Sandra Francis.
